23 November 2019 - Training Day - Preparation of Show Cattle
Galloways Australia is holding a Training Day on the 23rd November for all interested parties.
This will be a hands on training session with a number of cattle available to handle.
To get the most out of your day please wear appropriate clothes and be to handle the animals
Program
- 0830-0900 Arrival, tea and coffee will be available at the shed next to the yards
- 0900-1200 How to prepare your cattle to enter a show. (safety, grooming and handling)
- 1200-1230 Demonstration of cattle clipping
- 1230-1330 BBQ lunch (provided)
- 1330-1400 How to enter your stud animal into the show (What you need and how to do it)
- 1400-1500 The finer points of showing - practice with the animals

What to wear and bring
This is an on farm demonstration in the cattle yards. Please wear clothes that you won't mind getting dusty.
If you wish to handle the animals we strongly recommend enclosed footwear. Thongs will not be allowed inside the yards.
Please be prepared for sun and heat we recommend you wear a long sleeve shirt and a hat and bring sunscreen and a water bottle. Tea, coffee and water will be available throughout the day.
Lunch
A BBQ lunch will be provided. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.
